Yukai Engineering’s parade of bizarre animal robots at CES 2025 continues with Nékojita FuFu. The little cat mounts to the facet of a mug or bowl, blowing air to assist cool it off. The Tokyo-based agency says the robotic combines a fan and “special algorithm” — or a “Fuing System — to blow at random strengths and intervals, like an individual.
The distinctive identify is a mix of two distinct ideas. “FuFu” is an onomatopoeia for the sound we make when blowing on meals. “Neko-jita” means “cat tongue.” This, in flip is a reference to individuals who have a low tolerance for warm meals — a situation that apparently impacts almost half of the Japanese inhabitants, in line with a survey.
