Macau has formally categorised Morpheus, a luxurious lodge at Metropolis of Goals, as a “Tourism Utility,” granting it unique tax incentives for tourism contributions.
The federal government of Macau has formally designated Morpheus, a luxurious lodge inside Melco Resorts & Leisure’s Metropolis of Goals, as a “Tourism Utility,” granting it entry to unique tax advantages.
This announcement, printed within the Official Gazette on Wednesday, confirms that Morpheus meets the required standards for the classification. To qualify as a “Tourism Utility,” motels should be managed by a concessionaire or a global entity, function a restaurant providing each native Macanese and conventional Portuguese dishes, and deal with hiring Macau residents. Moreover, the lodge’s reception workers should be fluent in Chinese language, Portuguese, and English.
Opened on June 15, 2018, Morpheus stands at 160 meters tall with 39 flooring, encompassing 150,000 sq. meters of house. It boasts 770 rooms, suites, sky villas, and duplex villas, alongside various eating choices and a variety of non-gaming leisure amenities.
The Macau authorities considers a number of elements when classifying a lodge as a “Tourism Utility,” together with location, service high quality, monetary sustainability, and the contribution to native tourism infrastructure.
Motels with this designation are eligible for tax concessions, similar to exemptions from housing and enterprise taxes for a specified interval.
